Dance of Democracy

If there is no tolerance, no charity, no democratic discipline, and no consciousness, we shall never settle our differences, and we shall always submit to third-party arbitration, and that shall lead to foreign domination.

Indian democracy is going through a phase of churning and chorusing swirl. We need to keep ourselves battle-ready to fight against the anti-democratic and anti-constitutional forces, i.e., BJP, RSS, and their affiliated organisations. Hindutva forces are hell-bent on destroying and decimating the Indian fabric of democracy. The BJP government, under PM Modi, since 2014, has worked deliberately against the ethos of the Indian democratic fabric, which is based on truth, peace, brotherhood, social justice, and Satyagraha. Since the BJP came into power in 2014, it has focused its government machinery on helping and building crony capitalism. The anti-democratic BJP helped and channelled the whole of the national resources to capitalist friends; that created a dead economy in India, mass unemployment, high inflation, a decline in wages, and the ruination of the Indian education system, which created uncertainty about the future among Indian youth.

But the milieu of intolerance acted like a catalyst for Hindutva forces after 2014. They deliberately created an atmosphere of intolerance and hatred among religions and communities because it consolidated their core followers and voters on one side and alienated others who followed the ideology of Gandhi-Nehru-Ambedkar. They very successfully created a deep gorge between democratic India and Hindutva. They created a divide between Hindutva and secular, democratic, and tolerant India. They were successful in their mission. The main objective of creating division among the hearts and minds of Indians was to dismantle democracy, the Constitution, and the secular fabric of India to establish V. D. Savarkar's ideology of Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra. They unleashed the Hindutva forces, initiated seers and wants to organise Dharma Sansad, and they released a Hindutva manifesto which clearly stated that the Constitution, voting rights, and democracy should be abolished to establish a Hindu Rashtra based on Manusmriti, through which they would effectuate their ideology. It’s not something new; it’s their centuries-old mission, and they realised that they had failed when India got independence, created a Constitution, and established democracy based on universal suffrage.

Under the leadership of PM Modi, they started capturing the education system, where they recruited RSS ideologues and started changing the core of the Indian education pattern. They captured constitutional institutions and recruited their own people to run and propagate their own agenda and ideology. They started the saffronisation of India more aggressively after the construction and inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. They were clear in their thought that it was the right moment to implement the concept of Hindu Rashtra and rule for eternity. But they failed in the 2024 general election and lost the majority on their own; it was a great shock for them. They appealed to people to give them 400 Lok Sabha seats to bring fundamental changes to the Constitution, but they failed; it was a great setback for them. Then, they brought their own man, Gyanesh Kumar, as Chief Election Commissioner, and he started the SIR process in every state where assembly elections were about to come. He, with a centralised system, deleted millions of votes and disenfranchised people of their fundamental voting rights, which are the basis of Indian democracy.

But Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stood firm against them like a lone warrior. He never bowed down to their pressure and intimidation. Even the Indian judiciary acted deaf and mute against the Election Commission’s arbitrary actions. He raised the issues and communicated with the people, and people heard him and hit the road against the atrocities and undemocratic functioning of the Modi government and Modi leadership. Rahul Gandhi is a warrior and defender of Indian democracy and the fundamental rights of common people. On his tune, the Indian masses followed him, and this made PM Modi panic and start searching for refuge. During the SIR process, the Modi government brought a constitutional delimitation bill to increase the Lok Sabha seats of states, which would put southern states on the back foot in Parliament because it would have made them irrelevant in Parliament based on their changed proportional seats. The BJP government failed on 16 April 2026 once, and they again wanted to pass the delimitation bill with their own permutation and combination to surpass democracy. This delimitation bill and increased Lok Sabha seats would be another way to establish Hindu Rashtra because they conceived that, under present conditions and seats, they would eventually lose their power and their ambition would fail to be fruitified.

It’s their make-or-break point in their rule; they wanted to disenfranchise millions of people who were against their ideology and politics. Their way of politics is based on hatred, intolerance, religious bigotry, crony capitalism, subjugation of poor people, consolidation of national resources, restricting the thoughts and minds of common masses, disabling people from living freely and with freedom, creating rifts in society, dismantling the Gandhian way of life, which is the basis of independent India, handing out the Indian economy to their crony capitalist friends, and incapacitating the masses politically, socially, economically, and psychologically.

It’s time for awakening among the Indian masses and Indian politicians. They have to stand together and walk unitedly under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi to protect, defend, and preserve Indian democracy, the Constitution, and the soul of India. There is no other way; it's the dance of democracy.
